Orange Park- It wasn’t pretty but Green Cove will certainly take it. The Cougars improved to 3-0 with a narrow 12-6 win over Orange Park in
NEFAC Junior High Football.
Green Cove’s undefeated start can be attributed to the team’s ability to win all types of games. They scored 61 points in their first two games as the offense ran circles around their opponents.
However against Orange Park, the offense had an off night, as the Wildcats played the Cougars tough.This meant the defense had to step up and step up they did. They held Orange Park to just six points, allowing the team to get the victory.
Green Cove’s win may have revealed something more important within the team than a flashy win full of offense. It revealed that the team can win in different ways including with defense. Winning in different fashions makes them an all around unit. A team that can depend on each other as the season of wins continues.
