2020 Boys Basketball Power & Playoff Rankings; Jan 17th

Week #2 of our 2020 Boys Basketball rankings saw some movement for sure. What’s not for sure are some teams who have big wins but then return the favor with devastating defeats. Providence comes to mind as one of those teams. A big win nullified by a disappointing defeat. Bolles is a team to watch, with a big match-up against rival Bishop Kenny, can the Bulldogs keep moving up by keep consistently winning? Check out who remained consistent in this week’s Duval Sports Boys Basketball Power Rankings!

[table id=127 /]

  1. Jackson- Big win over Ed White and a nail biter over rival Ribault has them still atop the list!

2. Paxon- A decisive win over talented West Nassau has Paxon fueling up for tournament play

3. Lee- Wins over Ridgeview and OP have the Generals marching toward the gateway tournament

4. Impact- An overtime loss to a desperate and determined  Providence team was their only blemish this week. Nice win over SeaCoast

5. Columbia- Two wins in a row have them moving up in the playoff rankings and the Duval Sports Rankings too.

6. Providence – Dr. Jekyl and Mr Hyde, this team isn’t sure what they are at the moment. Big wins over Impact and Bolles moved them up, but a loss to Bishop Snyder has us scratching our heads.

7. NFEI- Close win over Bishop Snyder has them still in the top 10, but they need strong wins to prevent from falling any lower

8. Bishop Kenny- Enter the Crusaders riding a 13-3 record Coached by Jerry Buckley. They’ve won 6 in a row and have a big test tonight vs rival Bolles

9. Bolles- They have a big test versus Bishop Kenny coming up. Wins over Orange Park have them still in our top 10 even though OP is ranked higher than  them in the playoff rankings.

10. Hilliard- Trenton and Union County wins under their belt keeps them rolling strong. Stronger opponents could benefit them in the rankings.  They’re sliding in both the Duval Sports and Playoff rankings because of it

Best of the Rest: Orange Park (11-5), Bishop Snyder (7-9), Bradford (9-3), *Hope Christian *(6-5), First Coast (8-6), Nease (10-5)

*Denotes team not apart of FHSAA
