Heading into the final week for many boys basketball teams, this is do or die time for the post season. The Gateway Conference Tournament begins, and should provide for tremendous action all week. As of now, check out the top teams in the area this week as teams have moved up in the rankings.

1.Jackson( 17-2) – The Tigers continue to roll along. After a loss to Northeast out of Oakland Park Florida, Jackson got back on the winning track with an overtime win over Bishop Snyder. They’ll enter the Gateway Conference Tournament this week as the #1 seed.

2.Lee (18-3)- The Generals move up in this week’s rankings after impressive wins over Westside, Mainland (Daytona), and #11 ranked Lincoln in overtime. The Generals and Alex Fudge may be the hottest team and player going into the Gateway Tournament this week.
3.Impact Christian (13-4)- Impact moves up in our power rankings after moving up in the FHSAA playoff rankings. Their 13-4 record is second in their class. They gear up for their toughest part of the schedule including Bishop Snyder, NFEI and Bolles up first.
4.Paxon (17-5)- They’ve won three out of their last four games including one against Central Florida Christian Academy. They’ve fallen a few spots in the playoff rankings after their loss to Santa Fe Catholic. They’ll look to move back up after the the Gateway Tournament.
5.NFEI (18-3)- They haven’t lost in a month, and they’ve played good competition. Defeating Ribault, and then Lincoln by nearly 20 points, the Eagles are soaring into a big matchup versus Impact this week.
6.Columbia (17-2)- The Tigers continue to win games. They have won 9 games in a row and haven’t lost in a month.
7.Bishop Kenny (17-3)- The Crusaders got a huge win over rival Bolles last week to move up one spot in the power rankings. They have moved up several slots in the playoff rankings after taking down Seacoast, Orange Park, and Episcopal.
8.Providence (15-7)- The Stallions move up in the playoff rankings after wins over Bolles and Central Florida Christian. They look to close out the regular season with three more wins including against state powerhouse Lake Highland Prep, to at lease keep their #2 class rankings for the playoffs.
9.Hilliard (18-1) – Hilliard is wrapping up their regular season with an impressive 18 wins so far. They have been virtually unchallenged for the last month as they’ve beaten all eight of their opponents by double digits.
10. Fleming Island (13-7)- The Golden Eagles make their first appearance on our power rankings. After defeating First Coast, Atlantic Coast, and Clay, they’ve proved they can get hot and make some noise in their district. They currently sit 28 in their class, so Districts will be extremely important.
