Former William M. Raines standout Solomon Kindley of the University of Georgia was selected in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. The outstanding junior played guard on the supremely talented Georgia offensive-line, where he was characterized as a “nasty guard who lives in scrap mode” by NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein.
Selected 111th overall in the draft, the 6 foot 4 inch 335 pound guard played in 42 games over the past three seasons with 32 starts. Each of his last 25 starts came at left guard. Kindley was the first player in Northeast Florida to be selected in this year’s NFL draft.
He was a three-star recruit out of Raines where he started as an offensive and defensive lineman. While at Raines, Kindley powered an offensive line that rushed all the way to the FHSAA State Championship game. Their first appearance in the title game in 18 years.
Kindley joins a long line of Raines Vikings drafted into the NFL including Lito Sheppard, Jabar Gaffney and Hall of Famers Brian Dawkins and Harold Carmichael to name a few.
