After being on the cusp of bringing the Bulldogs their 12th state championship in program history, second year Head Coach Matt Toblin is back and looking to lead his squad back to state and claim their 12th title.

Toblin and his coaching staff are excited about the squad they have competing this year. This preview will highlight some of the players you should look out for to make some noise this season.

Caden Fordham – Senior, 6’2, 220 lbs., Outside Linebacker/Safety/Athlete

The Bulldogs have a very versatile player in Fordham. He can play virtually any position on the field. On the defensive side, the North Carolina State commit recorded 75 solo tackles last season. 6 of those were sacks. On the offensive side, he scored 9 touchdowns. Teams should watch out for him on both sides of the ball.

Davis Ellis – Senior, 6’0, 175 lbs., Wide Receiver

This quick wide receiver averaged 67.3 receiving yards per game last season. He scored 7 touchdowns out of the 10 games he played for the Bulldogs. Ellis is still deciding where, on the collegiate level, he would like to contribute his quick offensive skills.

Justin Cayenne – Senior, 6’3, 227 lbs., Tight End/Defensive Line

The future UCONN Huskie provides great versatility for the Bulldogs. His solid frame allows for him to defend and tackle very well. But don’t be fooled, Cayenne can get down the field as well. Defenses this season will learn that he is a force to be reckoned with.

Kade Frew – Junior, 5’8, 180 lbs., Running Back

Frew made a name for himself during his sophomore year. By the end of the season he tallied 953 Rushing Yards, averaging 73.3 per game. He rushed for 10 TDs for the Bulldogs. Frew also had 141 carries in 13 games. Over the summer he gained almost 30 more pounds in muscle and added to his already quick speed. Defenses might have a hard time containing him this season.

David Adewale – Senior, 6’3, 235 lbs., Defensive End

The Air Force Academy commit came up big on the defensive end for the Bulldogs last season. Adewale’s solid frame made 43 tackles throughout the year. His stats improved immensely from his sophomore to junior year, his last one should be nothing short of great.

Outlook:

Bolles returns several starters and adds key additions to the roster making them an even better team this year on paper than last year. They have a nice schedule with tougher regular season opponents so their 2 loss season from a year ago will be hard to repeat. However all signs point to another playoff birth and deep run at state. -Andre’ Ellis
