From the first play of the game, the Wolverine defense showed they are a force to be reckoned with. The Wolverines won the opening toss, deferring to the second half, and kicked the ball off to the Commanders only to take it right back. A pass by quarterback Jamal Delaune was intercepted by Dominique Alexander to give the Wolverines offense great field position.

The offense would sputter, and a turnover on downs would place the ball back to the Commanders on their own 15. The Wolverine defense would bend, but not break and an intentional grounding call would force the Commanders to punt. The Westside offense would pick up steam and long pass completions to Antwon McCrae and AJ Miller would put the Wolverines in scoring position. On first and goal, quarterback DJ Otis would find Tight End Chris Johnson for a touchdown to put the Wolverines on the board late in the first quarter.

After receiving the kickoff, a couple of runs on first and second down, and a bad snap on third down,  the punt team for the Commanders would come on. Chadwick Martin of the Wolverines would get a great time on the snap and make his way in the backfield to block the punt. The pigskin would fall into the hands of Darrel Williams, and e would run it back for a touchdown and put the Wolverines up 12-0 with 9:12 remaining in the second quarter.

The Commanders would struggle on another drive with the Wolverine defense, and give it back to their offense. A deep pass down the right sideline on third down to Antwon McCrae would again put the Wolverine offense in the redzone. On the next play, DJ Otis would connect with AJ Miller on the quick slant for his second touchdown pass of the half. That would extend the Wolverines lead to 18-0 with 5:55 tensing in the half.

The Commanders offense started to show signs of the life on the next drive, and quickly drove down the field to put themselves in position to get back into the game. The pass from Quarterback Jamal Delaune to wide receiver Eric Buggest would put the Commanders on the board.

A two point conversion would cut the lead to 18-8. However, on the ensuing kickoff, Antwon McCrae would return the kickoff for the touchdown to further extend the Wolverine lead to 24-8 with 2:57 remaining in the half.

The Wolverines would close out the half with a 24-8 lead. Their defense put the clamps on for the remainder of the night as the Commanders would play a majority of the second half on their own side of the field. Runs by quarterback DJ Otis and running back Donovan White sealed the game for the Wolverines. They would close the game out with a 36-8 win and their second consecutive victory over Ed White.

Wolverines move to 2-1 on the season and will host Baker County next week. Ed White falls to 1-2 and hosts Bishop Kenny next week.
