The Baker County Wildcats improved to 5-0 as they beat the Terry Parker Braves 42-14 Friday night at Joe Hodge Stadium.
The Wildcats got out to a quick 14-0 lead with two touchdowns from quarterback Carson Crawford. The first, a 51-yard pass to his twin brother Cameron Crawford, and the next one he’d run in from 5-yards out.
From there, two goal line stands by the defense would keep Parker out of the end-zone.
Two plays into the second quarter, Carson Crawford would connect with Jaymodd Ruise from 67-yards out to push the lead to 21-0 with 11:38 remaining in the quarter.
An interception by the Wildcat defense would set up the Cam Smith’s touchdown extending the lead to 28-0. With under three minutes left in the half, an interception by De’heaven Clark would preset Baker County with the opportunity to open the second half with a running clock. Quarterback Carson Crawford would make it happen. Leading the no huddle offense down the field, he’d call his own number and run it in from 12 yards out to close out the second half with a 35-0 lead for the Wildcats.
One the first drive of the second half, the Braves would try to get themselves back into the game with a scoring drive capped off by a touchdown run by quarterback Roman Doles. With the clock running, both teams would go scoreless for the remainder of the third quarter. Running back Jamarion Baker would get a score in the 4th quarter to push Baker County’s lead to 42-6 with 8:26 remaining in the game.
A late touchdown pass by quarterback Roman Doles with a two point conversion would bring the final score to 42-14.
Baker County improves to (5-0) on the season and face a huge test next week as they host Bolles. Terry Parker falls to (2-3) and host Ed White next week.
