Courtside With Coach: Florida High And Raines Trade Buckets Till The End

Jacksonville FL- If you weren’t in the gym to see the Raines Lady Vikings take on Florida High, you missed a heck of a game. Florida High came out with the 63 – 54 win over Raines. The action was back and forth as the lead changed several times. Raines nor FSU could pull away as neither team could push their lead past double digits.

Florida High proved to be the better team on the night, as they were able to seal the win, by pulling away in the end. I have to show some love to the Raines Vikings. Their defensive pressure is unmatched. They fought hard to the very end and if it weren’t for some late game cramping to their leader guard Selah Reddick, they may have pulled out the win.

When asked about the pressure they had to face from Raines and the game plan to take the ball out of his best player’s hand (Tonie Morgan) FSU’s Coach Darryl Marshall said that they were prepared for it. “We remember it from two years ago” when they last played Raines.  He also said he loves playing in this environment,  “it’s nothing like it and it makes us better” said Marshall.

Florida High is now 3-0 and will face Rickards on December 5th and will be home for awhile after playing in Jacksonville for the last two games. They return to Jacksonville on December 22nd to face Bishop Kenny and will try and pull off a trifecta as the Noles have also beaten Ribault in an earlier game this year.

Raines falls to 5-3 and will face Jackson in their next game on December 8th. You don’t want to miss that game.  Their game against Ribault that was scheduled for December 4th has been rescheduled for December 15th.
