Former Bolles QB Mac Jones Drafted In First Round By New England Patriots

Cleveland Ohio- Good things do come to those who wait. Former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones was drafted 15th in the first round of the NFL Draft by the New England Patriots . Jones won a National Championship this year, guiding the Alabama Crimson Tide to a convincing 42-24 victory over Ohio State. In just his first year as a full starter, Jones passed for 4500 yards, 41 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions.

The home town hero is a two-time CFP national champion (2017, 2020). He’s won the Davey O’Brien Award (2020) for the Nation’s Top Quarterback. The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award (2020) given to the nation’s top quarterback upperclassmen, and the Manning Award (2020). A consensus All-American (2020), Jones also made First-team All-SEC (2020), and a two time SEC Champion (2018, 2020). SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year (2020).

#8 Mac Jones at QB for the Mandarin Youth Football

Mac Jones began playing quarterback as a youth right here in Jacksonville. He played at the Mandarin Association where he showcased early on his natural gift as a passer and leader. Jones would later go on to become the starting quarterback for the prominent high school program Bolles Bulldogs.

While at Bolles, Jones helped guide the Bulldogs to state championship appearances in 2013, 2014 and 2016 under legendary Coach Corky Rogers. Both campaigns saw Jones lead his team to 11 win seasons. Jones joins Hayden Hurst (2012) as the only player from the school to be drafted in the first round of the NFL draft.
