-Bolles HS- Saturday afternoon football in week 1 of the regular season saw Creekside and Ribault matchup with each other in the W.W.Gay Bold City Classic. Creekside would get the victory over Ribault 16-7 to go 1-0 on the season.

Creekside would get on the board early when Vince Appropbato bursts through the offensive line for a safety. The senior linebacker is 6’0 , 215lbs of muscle and he showed it all afternoon consistantly getting pressure on Ribault’s quarterback. Creekside led 2-0.

Ribault would score the first touchdown in the contest. First the Trojan defense got an interception when Damontrio Glee intercepted a pass in the endzone. That spectacular play on defense instituted a 14-point swing as Ribault quarterback Nic Jones dropped back and hit Kalvin Gilbert Jr for the 80-yard touchdown pass. Ribault led 7-2 to end the first quarter.

In the second quarter Creekside would go ahead thanks to a Preston Stope touchdown run. Strope took the ball in from 4-yards out for the score, which was set up by a punt block by Christian Yousefzadeh. One spectacular play led to another and Creekside took a 9-7 lead.

Creekside’s defense would step up again, Ian Calhoun would sack Brown and force a fumble, it would be recovered by the Knights. The strip sack set up another touchdown, this time a long pass play from Jacob Dennie to wide receiver Maxwell Robinson. Dennie came over from Christ Church after coach Jim Stomps departed and came over to Creekside as the Knights were in search of a quarterback with the departure of Daniel Plummer III.

Maxwell is one of the most versatile athletes in the state of Florida. He plays wide receiver, quarterback, running back, and defensive back. His biggest upside collegiately is wide receiver and he showed why Saturday afternoon. Creekside would go on to win 16-7 over Ribault
