Ponte Vedra, Mandarin, and Providence In Top 25 Volleyball State Rankings

Jacksonville FL – We’re at the halfway mark of the Volleyball season and it’s heating up just in time for fall to come. As always, Jacksonville and Northeast Florida are well represented on the Volleyball front, and it’s evident in the new FHSAA State Volleyball Rankings. The top ratings for each classification will advance to the playoffs at the conclusion of the regular season.


#1. Ponte Vedra (11-0), Ranked #1, 6A – Rating 29.950

Ponte Vedra, once again is dominating the competition as defending state champions. They’ve won 47 games in a row and look unstoppable. Junior Zeta Washington is their leader and an absolute terror on the court. With 108 kills and 24 blocks on the season, she’s is a nightmare for opponents. Sophomore Chelsea Sutton has 16 blocks on the season, which is one of the major reasons the Sharks are superb defensively. Senior Rachel Johnson is a big contributor on offense as well with 97 kills on the season. Senior Ava Witt leads the team with 125 digs, Kendall Mignerey sister of Logan Mignerey who graduated two years ago is establishing her own name as the team’s ace with 18 on the year. Wins over Bartram, Plant, and Sante Fe are signature victories this year. The only team that can stop Ponte Vedra, is Ponte Vedra. They’re rematch with Sante Fe is scheduled for this Saturday 9/25/21.
