Gainesville Fl- We knew that the Bulldogs would jump in their RPI rankings after their win against previously undefeated Trinity Christian (Jax), and jump they did. Bolles jumped from #21 last week, to #6 this week overall with an RPI of 0.767. They are ranked #1 in 4A. As their schedule picks up with tougher opponents, Bolles climbs the crucial ladder for teams situated in Classes 1A-4A. This is important, because they do not have districts in these classifications.
Teams with the top RPIs in each region of Class1A-4A will advance to the playoffs. On paper, there’s no team in region 1 that looks to test Bolles playoff hopes. Yet, situated just above Bolles in this week’s rankings, is a team they just might see in a potential state championship matchup in Class 4A, the 3-1 Cocoa Tigers. But we’re a long way from that.
