Mid-Season Report: Middleburg Broncos

We take a look at teams around the area either at their mid-season point or just after the half way mark. Today’s report is on the Middleburg Broncos coached by Ryan Wolfe. The coaching staff at Middleburg has been raving about their new program since the spring. Coach Wolfe and his staff knew that they assembled a great group, focused on winning and winning now. That’s exactly what they’re doing. At 4-1, the Broncos have almost quadrupled their win total from last year. One of the main reasons for this success is the players that have bought in to the system. A system that runs the football.

Led by junior Mike Mitchell’s 914 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, Middleburg has amassed over 1400 rushing yards in just five games. The running game has allowed them to best teams like Stanton, Eastside, Santa Fe, and Matanzas. Their lone loss came to St. Augustine in a shootout. The schedule doesn’t get any easier with Episcopal, Gainesville, Clay and Yulee left on the schedule. Yet, the Broncos are poised to be playoff contenders by the end of the season. Check out some of the players who have contributed to the Broncos success at mid-season.
