It is the second championship in consecutive years for Baker County. Last year they defeated Oakleaf, and ironically the score in that game was 36-0 as well. It seems to be a lucky number that is familiar to the program as Coach Kenneth Roberts knows very well from last year. This year, Baker County has another team made up of dynamic playmakers. It starts with 6 foot 2 inch linebacker Hudson Register who had several punt blocks, and interceptions returned for touchdowns on defense.

Fisher Taylor an eighth grade leader on the offensive line, along with big Wilmarius Jackson opened big holes for Teondre Waldon, a big time running back on the offense. Taz Kinghorn had his own island as a lock down corner. Keyshawn Kennedy a dynamic defensive end, and Gavin Mosley a high motor line backer were big reasons for the team’s over powering of opponents. Vontayous Walker was a big special team contributor, along with Emory Wimberly who was very versatile playing multiple positions on offense and defense. Brock Boatright made big kicks this year as they had a reliable kicker all year.

Next year looks bright for the shining stars as Baker County. Led by seventh grade QB Chase Phillips who stepped in and made dynamic plays when the ball was in his hands. The entire team won on and off the field as student athletes. It’s a testament to the great players and coaches on this year’s team to continue the storied tradition, and what is quickly becoming a middle school dynasty. Said offensive coordinator Tucker Roberts of the team’s success over the years, “They bought in since their first year of being in the program. From Scooby Graham and the Crawford boys (Camron and Carson) to the guys we have now, they just love the game of football”.
