Macclenny Fl- It was round 2 of a Class 5A-1 district matchup between Ed White (5-5) and Baker County (9-2) Friday and the end result yielded the same result as the first. Baker County would defeat Ed White 28-12, advancing to face West Florida in round 2. Baker County’s Cam Smith scored first for Baker County, followed by Jamarian Baker to go up 14-0. Smith would score a second time to give the Wildcats a 21-0 halftime lead.
Ed White would score twice thanks to Gabrial Garmon who scored on two long pass plays on the night. However it wasn’t enough, as Jaymodd Ruise would score on a touchdown run giving his team the win. Baker County as the number 1 seed will host the next round game. Ed White exits the playoffs after qualifying for the post season for the first time in seven years.
