Lake Shore- Lake Shore defeated Fletcher for the second time in as many weeks. Their first win, Fletcher went ahead 16-0, before Lake Shore pulled away scoring over 30 points for the victory. This time in the Duval County playoff game, quarterback Jaidan Delaune would add to his touchdown total scoring three touchdowns in the contest. Lake Shore Warriors defeated Fletcher 26-14 to advance to the championship game.
Just a 7th grader, Delaune has passed for over 30 touchdowns this season. He’s been one of many playmakers this year who has contributed to the success of the team. Against Fletcher Ja’Qillie Hobdy scored a touchdown to put Lake Shore up 20-6. As they went on to win the game.
Lake Shore is making their second appearance in the championship game in the last four years. Lake Shore fell to Highlands in double overtime back in 2018. So Coach Joe Delaune is looking to finish what he started back then. They’ll get their sot against the defending champions Ribault.
After the game, Fletcher and Lake Shore gathered together to congratulate one another as Fletcher customarily does. A great showing of sportsmanship and unity connecting two opposite sides of town.
