Orlando Fl- With 3:00 left in the fourth quarter and ahead 22-21 in the Class 2A state championship game, Trinity Christian (9-4) faced a 4th and 1 with their backs to their goal-line against Orlando Christian Prep (10-2). After a timeout, Orlando Christian Prep would attempt a run up the middle, however linebacker Caden Morrell would stuff the ball carrier and defensive tackle Deon Briggs would finish off at the 1-yard line stopping the Warriors.

On the ensuing drive from their 1-yard line, Trinity running-back Treyaun Webb would roll 99-yards for a touchdown. The back breaking run would put the Conquerors up 29-21. A fumble on the next drive would be recovered by Trinity as they defeated Orlando Christian Prep to advance to the Class 2A State Championship to face Champagnat Catholic next Thursday.

It was a true dog fight of a game for Trinity who fell down early when Nick Rawls caught a Vilay Nakkoun’s deflected pass for a 58-yard touchdown to put OCP up 6-0. The PAT was no good.

Trinity would move the ball within the twenties, but struggle in the red-zone early on. Kicker Seth Bialek would be the player of the game hitting several field goals in the game. He hit a 27-yarder and a 35- yarder to bring Trinity to within one point 7-6 in the second quarter.

However OCP would increase their lead when Demarion Jenkins caught a slant and jolted 54-yards for a score, putting the Warriors up 14-6. After another Trinity field goal, Vilay Nakkoun would add to his touchdown pass with a run to put OCP up 21-9 going into halftime.

Trinity would battle their way back into the game in the second half when freshman quarterback Colin Hurley hit Keaton Thomas for 42-yards and a touchdown to make the score 21-16 in the 3rd. Thomas would then turn around on defense and grab an interception for the Conquerors.

The Conquerors would turn the turnover into points, when Webb would score from 1-yard out to put Trinity up for good 22-21 in the third. Trinity would hold the line, win the game, and would head back to Tallahassee for the second consecutive year for the state championship game. Ironically, the Conquerors season began at Rickards High School in Tallahassee for the kickoff classic.
