Middleburg FL- Fresh off of their spring football win against Keystone Heights, we take a look at the Middleburg Broncos and what has put them on the map as one of the up and coming teams in Northeast Florida.
Ryan Wolfe took over as head coach in the fall of 2020 after success as offensive coordinator at Fleming Island. His success as a high powered offensive coach proved to yield dividends for Middleburg last year as the team earned winning record (5-5) in his first season, and was one of the top offenses in the area. A big reason for this success was the running game.
Key Returning Players
RB- Michael Mitchell-2023, 6’0, 210lbs
Mitchell led Clay county in rushing with 1378 yards and 18 TDs. Size, strength, and speed, Mitchell is an ultimate weapon on offense for the Broncos, and they’ll look to use him heavily in the run game. He has recent offers from FIU and Utah to go along with teams like Louisville, and Washington St.
RB- TJ Lane, 2023, 5’10, 190
Coming over from Mandarin, Lane is a versatile back and a perfect compliment to Mitchell. He can catch out of the backfield, while also pounding the rock on the ground. He has the frame that many colleges love right now, which allows him to ricochet off tacklers and hide behind linemen between the tackles.
QB -Jaydan Jenkins, 2024
Coming over from Clay high school last year, Jaydan Jenkins brings athleticism and experience with him. He caught three touchdowns at wide receiver while also tossing 4 TDs at quarterback for the Blue Devils. A quick athlete with a strong arm will open up the options for Coach Wolfe’s offense.
LB- Austin Cruce 2024, 6’0 , 195lbs
Cruce registered 105 tackles his sophomore year. It’s was a great start as a starter on the Bronco defense. Now he returns looking to increase those numbers combined with his increased experience to take unit even further.
