After leading Trinity Christian to a State 3A Championship in football and on the 4×1 relay team, Christian Ellis transferred to Ed White High School. He led the Commanders to the playoffs, qualifying for the first time in 7 years. He finished his phenomenal season with 1,457 rushing yards, 1,563 all purpose yards, 12 TD’s 50 tackles, 3 TFL’s, 3 sacks, 1 interception, 3 fumble recoveries and 3 forced fumbles in 10 games. One of few players who solidified themselves as a top athlete on both sides of the ball, Ellis made the All City Team at Sandalwood as a sophomore and at Trinity as a junior.
As a senior, Ellis made the Florida Times Union Super 24, The Action News Jax-Jaguars Prep, Florida Times Union First Team All -Area teams, and was the Action News Jax, Ryan Keith Courage Award recipient. He completes the list as a Duval Sports Prime Time Player and recipient of the inaugural Duval Sports “Donald Rocker Jr Award”, given to the Biggest Impact Athlete in Northeast Florida. Ellis signed to play safety at the University of New Mexico.
At New Mexico, Ellis played in several games as a freshman on special teams. As a sophomore Ellis led New Mexico in solo tackles, and was the only true freshman in the mountain west conference with 50+ tackles (59)
