Jaguars Draft 5th Round
FS Durrell Eskridge
Ht: 6’3

The Jaguars need to address the safety position in the draft. Free Safety Josh Evans has had mixed reviews and with the signing of safety Sergio Brown in free agency, the Jaguars may have found a starting tandem this year with Johnathan Cyprien. Yet Gus Bradley will demand competition at this position, and with Durrell Eskridge he’ll have a chance to draft a safety with similar attributes as his former pro bowl safety in Seattle Kam Chancellor. Chancellor is a little bigger but not by much. The 6’3 play maker from Syracuse can run and cover. He was one of the highest rated safeties that tested at the NFL combine. If Eskridge can bulk up and learn the position he could take the field as a starter in year two, just as Chancellor did in Seattle.
