Northeast Fl- We’ve updated the final ratings for the quarterbacks, and this has proven to be the years of the passer. For the last three years, Duval Sports has released Madden Ratings for athletes in Northeast Florida and let’s just say it’s been interesting. It’s been a pretty fun story for the young athletes, being able to associate their favorite video game with their own personal athletic achievement. It’s all in fun, and all in the game as EA Sports says. So let’s break down the Madden Ratings, and look at what determines the overall ratings.

Remember, there are three main catagories that determine the overall Madden Ratings listed. Stats, Athleticism, and Opponents. Stats will be listed next to each player. Athleticism is based off what Duval Sports coorespondents have seen in person, or reviewed on Hudl. Opponents is based on strength of schedule and college offered players faced. The overall rating based on those three categories, is what’s shown in the skills bar.
Only the Top 25 players from each position will be listed. Players overall ratings must be graded at 80% or above to be listed. All stats are used from Maxpreps, the official stat provider for the FHSAA. If stats aren’t available, we reach out to each school for stats or simply factor in athleticism and strength of schedule. Finally, lets check out the QB Madden Rankings below.

The quarterback position has been a surprise so far this year with some new names leading the way in the stats and overall ratings. Fletcher’s Marcelis Tate has the most impressive numbers of all QBs in Northeast Florida. He and quarterbacks DJ Murray of Flagler Palm Coast, Locklan Hewlett of St. Augustine, King Johnson of Jackson, Chris Turner of Yulee, and Creekside’s Wilson Edwards were new names bringing new attitudes to their team’s success in 2022.
The highly recruited quarterbacks are also atop the ratings and having good years as well such as Mandarin’s Tramell Jones, and Trinity’s Colin Hurley. Marcus Stokes, Roman Doles, and Tyler Jefferson are top quarterbacks that have had to be multiple weapons for their teams in both rushing and passing this year. All five quarterbacks have navigated very tough schedules, with dominant defenses.

Similar to college and the professionals, if you have a quarterback, you have a chance in high school these days. Just ask First Coast about Rodney Tisdale Jr, or Ponte Vedra about Ben Burk, or Baldwin’s Jalen Hitchens, and also Jeremiah McKenzie (Bradford). They all stepped up big and had their teams winning this year..
