Macclenny Fl- Baker County Middle shuts out Oakleaf Junior High 10-0, on their way to a championship Three-Peat. Baker County dominated on both sides of the ball Tuesday Night, capping an undefeated season.
Both defenses made it hard for the opposing offenses to move the football early on. Oakleaf got the ball first but turned the ball over on downs. Baker County would try to get something started on offense however, Oakleaf’s R Jay would make a spectacular interception on the Baker County 1-yard line to stop the drive.
On the ensuing play, Oakleaf attempted to make some room with a dive play up the middle however Baker County linebacker Hudson Hodges would rocket through the middle of the offensive line and stuff the ball carrier resulting in a safety. Baker County led 2-0 in the first quarter.

The Bobcats would add to that lead before halftime when Jaden Mosley took the direct snap up the middle for a long gain. He would drag Oakleaf defenders down to the 1-yard line.
Mosley was rewarded by Bobcat offensive coordinator Coach Roberts, by giving him the ball again to plunge it in for a touchdown. The score was now 9-0.
The 2-point conversion was successful by Hodges, as Baker County took a 10-0 lead. Hodges was all over the field Tuesday night, playing runningback with big runs, and linebacker with big hits. He and lineman Cortez Major controlled the line of scrimmage on both offense and defense.
Another player making big hits was safety Chase Phillips. Phillips, another 2-way player, made big plays on both sides of the ball. On offense he made tough runs and on defnese he played tough with bone crushing hits. Amazingly, Phillips played the entire championship game with a cast on his hand saying “this was nothing, we’re from the country this is what we do”.
Oakleaf attempted to get on the board in the third quarter when they connected on a long pass down the sideline which set up the offense in scoring position. However, Baker County’s defense would stiffin, forcing a turnover on downs.
Baker County would go on to run out the clock, and hoist the championship trophy once again. Congratulations to the ruunner-up Oakleaf Junior High Yellow Jackets, who won the Clay County championship. They fought hard all year and hada great season.
Yet, the championship belt goes to Baker County, who are the undisputed champions of the NEFAC. Who dominated every game all season, and won their 24th consecutive win.
