The undefeated Landon Lions completed the perfect season winning the Duval County Middle School Volleyball Championship Monday night. The Lions fought incredibly hard all year to get back to the championship game for the third year in a row, an amazing job by the team.
Landon defeated Kernan in the first round of the playoffs, then defeated Fletcher in the semifinals to set up their championship match against Baldwin. Landon defeated Baldwin to make it third times a charm in championship games.
The last two years, the Lions faced Fletcher in the championship game, losing in the county title game. The Lions are a middle school volleyball dynasty in the making, making their third straight trip and winning it all in 2022.
Congratulations to Baldwin on winning the county runner-up trophy. It was an historic year for Baldwin as they defeated Ribault, and revenged a loss against James Weldon Johnson from earlier in the season to advance to the championship game.
