Northeast Fl- With their 5th straight win of the season, the St. Johns Country Day Spartans are one of the hottest teams in Northeast Florida. On Monday, the Spartans defeated (1-6) Beaches Chapel 63-54 to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Ian Mamea led the Spartans with 15 points against the Lions. Grayson Moody chipped in with 13 points, while Camden Cooper also scored in the double digits with 10 points. Mamea also led the team with 11 rebounds, while Andrew Hightower was second with 10 rebounds in the game including 7points.
Camden Cooper has led the team averaging 22.3 points per game this season. The 2028 athlete is already one of he most skilled players in Northeast Florida, able to score the basketball, but also see the floor to get others involved. Against First Coast Christian, Cooper lit up the court scoring 32-points to lead his team to a close 64-60 victory.
Against Stanton, Cooper hung 34-points on the Blue Devils in a Spartan’s 58-54 win. St. John’s Country Day has been able to combine close wins with convincing victories like ones over Middleburg 64-47, and Covenant School of Jacksonville 62-28 which has fuled the 5-game win streak.
As long as Mister Cooper keeps hanging buckets on opponents, St. John’s Country Day will keep hanging W’s in the win column. Coach Ian Gibson and the Spartans face Tocoi Creek (3-1) on Friday, in hopes of improving to 6-1 on the season.
