Northeast Fl- It’s been three years in the making, but the Atlantic Coast girls soccer team have returned to their winning ways, securing their first winning season since 2019-2020. This team of experienced and talented young ladies have improved each year, working hard to arrive at this moment.
AC defeated Bishop Kenny 3-0 on Thursday to improve to 9-4-2 on their season. A vast difference from their 2020-2021 season, where Coast went 6-7-3 as they began a rebuild. In 2021-2022, they went 8-9-3 in the midst of their rebuild, while gaining experience. Now in 2022-2023, they have the chance to achieve 10-wins, something many members of this squad have nevr experienced.
Against Bishop Kenny, Gaby Rourke scored 2-goals in the win, as she continues an amazing junior season. Also, team captain Bailey Brinson, and sophomore Evangelina Arocho have been instrumental leaders on and off the field with their play.
Arocho has proven that she can evade defenders and score, just as she did against Paxon last week scoring twice in that game. She’s had goals against Sandalwood to give her team a huge vitory, as well as a goal against Bolles in their staple victory of the season.
The Stingrays defeated Bolles for the first time in school history this year, proving that they are a force to reckon with when they play together as a team. Their the right team rolling at the right time, and are looking to finish the season strong heading into district play.
