It was a great day one at One Spark Wednesday as the atmosphere swelled with anticipation and excitement for many creators and fans eager to check out some of the country’s finest projects. Here’s a recap of day 1 at the Duval Sports Experience located at the Jacksonville Landing Food Court.
Elmo made a visit to the Duval Sports Booth! Make sure to come to the booth all week to check out Elmo and challenge him to Sports Trivia and Games!
“Put Your Mind into It”
This was the message former Jackson Tiger King Smith remembered from his coaches as he recanted his football days 
here in Jacksonville. Smith a graduate of 2007, also ran track and wrestled for Jackson. ” My senior class was a big part of Jackson Sports” , recalled Smith.
As a Nose Tackle and Cornerback for Jackson, Smith was used to playing totally different roles to get the job done. He would receive scholarship offers to play football in college, and a practice squad stint with the Jacksonville Falcons. But what Smith remembers the most is his experiences with Duval sports.
“Coach Sullivan at Jackson and Coach Solomon at Northwestern Middle were two of the most influential coaches in my life”. King will undoubtedly pass down some of that valued advice to other athletes he encounters.
“He Understood our background and community”
These were the words of Carlos Satterfield (Los) when thinking about his track coach Steven Bellamy . Los and King both agreed that Bellamy is “one of the best track coaches ever”.
He credited coaches like Bellamay and affectionately named “Coach Pooh Bear” as persons who knew how to get the best out of each athlete. Satterfield ran track at Jackosn, played basketball at the Cleveland Road YMCA, and football at the Police Athletic League.
Running multiple events in track at Jackson, Satterfield attributes his instilled confidence from youth sports as the force behind his confidence in High School.

We are attempting to start a youth summer camp for kids to stay physically fit during the summer and have a safe place to learn and have fun over the summer. We also intend to start internships for high school and college students who wish to pursue careers in journalism and digital management.
