Jacksoville Fl- There was a lot of talent in the gym for Reps on Reps Hoops Girls High School Combine. Some of the best players in Northeast Florida showed up to get some early work in at Christian Heritage Academy on August 19th. It was a great event, and it was nice to see the girls get some much-deserved recognition. Let’s look at some of the young ladies that stood out.
Morgan Gavazzi is one of the best point guards in the area and it showed at the combine. She is a true floor general. She made all the right decisions, whether it was getting her teammates involved or taking the shot herself. Morgan is also good defender and rebounds well for her size. Everything seemed to come easy to her on the court. It has been a joy to watch her game grow since I first saw her in the 7th grade.
Teammates Kennedy Rosendahl and Maya Richards also had strong performances at the combine. Kennedy is known as a shooter and Maya as a defender, but both showed their all-around games. You can watch this trio this upcoming season at Ponte Vedra High School.
Alanna Tatum is also one of the best point guards in the area and she is only in the tenth grade this year. She has been the starting point guard on her varsity team that made it to the Final Four in her 8th grade season and the Sweet Sixteen in her freshman season.
She is a great passer and can score at will. She is fast, athletic and can get to the hoop with ease. Alanna is also a terror on defense as she uses her quick hands and feet to get into passing lanes and get deflections and steals. She comes up clutch in big moments as she was the only girl that scored on the coaches in one on one even though she was the last one to participate. You can watch Alanna this upcoming season at University Christian.
Janai Jordan maybe the most underrated player in the area as she played on a team loaded with upperclassmen her first two seasons. If the combine is any indication, I expect her to have a breakout season. She can do everything on the court and probably has one of the most complete games in Northeast Florida and displayed it all at the combine. High IQ player who lets her game speak for itself. If you are not familiar with her game or name, you will be soon. You can watch Janai play this upcoming season at Providence.
I could go on and on about the outstanding individual performances from this combine, but the article would be too long. I don’t want to leave them out though so you can find a list of those players that also stood out below:
