Quarterback Club: Top Quarterbacks Going into Week 11, And How Their Teams Ended The Regular Season

Check out the Top10 quarterbacks in Northeast Florida heading into week 11, and how their teams faired in the last week of the season tonight. We’ll have a final rankings next week when we release our annual Madden Ratings for the top players at each position.

1. Cibastian Broughton- Fleming Island

He passed for 234 yards, 2 TDs, 1 Int, and had 21 carries for 75 yards versus undefeated Buchholz. Our reigning #1 quarterback in Northeast showed why we’ve been so high on him all season, gaining praise from the the Bobcats. Said Buchholz coach Chuck Bell of Broughton, “He made Myles ( UF commit Myles Graham) miss, and beat him to the edge a few times,” Bell said. “I think the Buchholz football program will be excited next year after our final time playing him because Cibastian Broughton is a heck of a football player.”- Gainesville Sun. That’s high praise for our 5-star rated QB, as Graham is rated a 5-star LB by Rivals. Tonight: Fleming Island defeated Orange Park 28-27 in OT


2. DJ Moore- Bolles

DJ Moore put to rest all the talk surrounding the Bolles offense inability to pass for big yardage against Bishop Kenny. The 2024 Coastal Carolina commit passed for 326 yards 2 TDs and he also ran for a score. He is a model of consistency, one that should be noted. He currently sits in the top 100 in the state in passing yards. Tonight: Bolles fell to Berkely Prep 42-7.


3. Rodney Tisdale Jr– First Coast

Tisdale led First Coast to it’s first district championship in 9 years, as the Buccaneers upset Fletcher 28-27 in overtime. His contributions won’t show up in the stat sheet, but Tisdale was nearly flawless in the game management taking what the defense gave him by converting first downs with his legs and making big throws down field. He finished with 192 yards passing, 1 touchdown and 1 interception, that came when a receiver bobbled a pass into the arms of a defender. Tisdale also ran 8 times for 38 yards. He is 2nd in NE Florida in passing yards and 26th in the state with 2,034 yards. Tonight: First Coast defeated Jackson 31-0.


4. Bryce Frick- Nease

It was another upset orchestrated by an awesome quarterback. This time, it was Bryce Frick of Nease who passed for 250 yards, 2 TDs and 2 Ints. Frick also ran 12 times for 65 yards and a touchdown. It was a great performance in all areas. through the air hitting several different receivers. On the ground scoring a touchdown to put the Panthers ahead. He’s been playing exceptional football and Friday he led his team to a big upset win. They now have the inside track to take the district title. Tonight: Nease defeated Tocoi Creek 47-27.

5. Marcelis Tate – Fletcher

It wasn’t the outcome that Tate wanted as Fletcher lost in overtime to First Coast. With it went the chance for a district title. However, Marcelis showed everyone exactly why he’s one of the top QBs in the state. Trailing 21-0 late in the third quarter, he led his team back to tie the game and send it to overtime. He finished with 236 yards passing 1 TD, and 52 yards rushing with a score. Tonight: Fletcher defeated Atlantic Coast 22-0.


6. Tramell Jones Jr- Mandarin

The captain of a 7-2 team who only had one loss from the area. He’s incredibly efficient, managing the game exactly how coaches dictate to him. He hasn’t been asked to do much in the last few weeks except don’t turn the ball over and make the play when called upon he’s done that superbly. He passed for 181 yards 3 TDs passing against Sandalwood. He’s currently 32nd in the state and 3rd in NE Florida in passing yards with 1,983 yards. Tonight: Mandarin fell to Bartram 24-14.


7. Locklan Hewlett- St Augustine,

 Hewlett has resumed his normal for, after missing a few games this season. Against Clay, Hewlett lit up the Blue Devils passing for 140 yards and 4 TDs. He makes it look easy, and he makes few mistakes which puts his team in optimal scoring positions, and is a big reason St. Augustine jumps out on teams quickly. Tonight: St. Augustine defeated Palatka 41-6.

8. Edward Jordan – Beachside 

He currently has 2,293 yards passing and is the 14th ranked passer in the state and the #1 passer in Northeast Florida put up big numbers again this week. Against NFEI, Jordan passed for 178 yards and 4 TDs. He now has 2,293 yards passing and 29 touchdowns on the season. Tonight: Beachside defeated Providence 66-20.


9. Colin Hurley- Trinity

LSU commit Colin Hurley returns to the top 10 after a masterful performance against Providence. He passed for 287 yards and 3 touchdowns. Hurley is an undeniable talent that has shown all the physical attributes as a top QB talent in Northeast Florida. He ends the regular season as the all time leading passer in Trinity Christian history. Tonight: Trinity defeated Specially Fit Academy 47-21.


10. Timothy Cole Jr-Ribault

Ribault’s Timothy Cole Jr has been coming on strong late in the season. Against Baldwin, Cole passed for 167 yards and 3 TDs. Cole now had four straight games of passing for 150 yards or more. It’s his second 3 touchdown game in three weeks. Tonight: Ribault fell to Riverside 32-23.
