Softball: University Christian falls to Lakeland Christian

In the class 3A State semifinal game, Lakeland Christian defeated University Christian 4-1. Things looked bright for U.C early as they went up 1-0 thanks to a sacrifice fly by Caccavale to right field which scored Morgan.

University Christian was poised to compete for the championship and top off their best season in school history(19-6 record), however it wasn’t to be this year. The eventual 3A softball champion would pull away in the later innings on excellent pitching by Kristen Beachem.

University Christian fell short this year, but many are optimistic about their chances next year to take it all the way.

Congratulations to the Lady Christians on a fine season!
