Nease Puts Creekside On Running Clock, And Northeast Florida On Notice

St Johns FL– For the second week in a row, the Nease Panthers came away with an impressive victory to put Northeast Florida on notice. Last week they put it on a very good Ponte Vedra team 24-7. This week they would put Creekside on a running clock, pummeling them 45-7. With offense, defense, and special teams, the Panthers are clicking on on cylinders and Creekside was in the way at the wrong time. .

Nease would cranked it up in the second quarter after a strong, defensive battle in the first quarter. Then quarterback Nate Harry threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Vernon Stephens to give the Panthers the 7-0 lead in the second quarter.

The Knights got the ball back and drove down field for a Sean Ashenfelder 13-yard touchdown to tie up the game 7-7. The Panthers get the ball back and kicker Tyler Ghazanfari kicked the field goal to take back the lead for Nease. The Knights fumbled and the Panthers recovered creating another scoring opportunity.

Quarterback Nate Harry did his thing and hit Brayden Felder down field for a 33-yard touchdown to extend the lead 17-7 right before the half. The Panthers were rolling and came out hot after the half and Elisha Luckett made a pick for the panthers. Nease has capitalized on turnovers and they take advantage of the lead and pulled out the trick play.

Harrison Miller would find Vernon Stephens in the end zone to make it 24-7 Panthers. Surprisingly, It was Stephen’s second score of the game, with two different quarterbacks. The beauty of a Colin Drafts led team is the education of the quarterback, and how skilled each signal caller is when it’s their time to step up. This trick play caught Creekside slipping.

Not only did they’re offense step up, but they’re defense stepped us as well for the second straight week. They held Ponte Vedra to just 7-points, and Friday, they held the Knights all night long and forcing Creekside to keep giving the ball back to their offense. It’s a formula for success, the ability to score, but also the ability to force turnovers.

The Panther’s KJ Perry dove into the end zone to make the score 31-7. Nease’s defense continued to dominate, forcing a turnover on downs to give the ball back to the Panther offense. With 9:34 left in the game, Andrew Moses made a diving grab for another touchdown for the Panthers to make the score 38-7.

The Panthers got the ball back and turned the game into a running clock with a Enrique Ordonez touchdown to make the score 45-7. It was an A+ game on both sides of the ball for Nease as the Panthers are clicking in all phases. Teams should hit the deck, because Nease is blowing up the competition.
