It was tied 1-1 in the top of the 6th inning when Trinity Christian started to make their rounds of the bases. Consecutive sacrifice flys resulted in two RBIs giving them a 3-1 lead. Then Trinity’s Rollin Layton hit a double to left field bringing in the deciding run as they defeated South Sumpter 4-1.
Trinity will be vying for their second State Championship in sports this year, as they attempt to join their varsity football team.
