Baldwin Fl- Union County came into Baldwin’s territory looking to stay undefeated through week 4.They’d find themselves successful defeating Baldwin 22-0 on Friday night. This matchup seemed closer on paper, as both teams had shown promising starts to the season. Baldwin winning 2 of 3 contests, while Union County coming in at 3-0. Yet on this night, the Tigers would hunt.
At first however, both the Indians and the Tigers struggled to get their offenses going, but the Tigers found a way right before the half. Trenton Klein would take control of the drive and rush for a touchdown at the goal line for the game’s first score. Unfortunately, the Tigers would fail to get the 2-point conversion to make the score 6-0.
The Tigers took that lead into halftime, and would receive the ball after the half. Although the Tigers had a chance to increase the lead, the Indians stepped up with a huge stop at the goal line for the score to remain 7-0. That wouldn’t last for long, as Clifton Ivey rushed for a touchdown.
The mistakes made play-calling more conservative on both sides of the ball especially considering the wet conditions. This resulted in not much action for both offenses until Klien handed the ball off to Drew Simmons who scampered for a touchdown and a successful 2-point conversion in the 4th quarter.

This extended the lead to 14-0. The Tigers defense would step up big time, as the ball hawks took flight. They’d get the ball back with 6:00 minutes left to go in the game, and got the opportunity to run the ball and rush a touchdown with yet another successful 2 point conversion.
At this point, the scoreboard operators weren’t needed as the game began without a working scoreboard. But the game ended with only one team scoring and that was Union County. Union County defeated Baldwin 22-0.
The Tigers defense d their Jobs tonight. They got the ball back to the offense for Klien to do his thing through the air. They conclude by getting into “Victory Formation” to run out the clock as Union County improved to 4-0 on the season. They host Fort White next week at 7:30pm for another Tiger vs Indian battle!
