Northeast Florida- Due to Hurricane Helene, many athletic events have been postponed or rescheduled this week. Some of the games were rescheduled for earlier in the week as we had Wednesday night football from several teams around Northeast Florida.

Bartram Trail at Tocoi Creek

Bartram Trail (3-3) visited Tocoi Creek (4-1) and the Bears did not anticipate running straight into a hurricane. That hurricane was the return of Julio Santiago. This was the 5-star Duval Sports rated wide receiver’s first game action of the season, and he came with a fury. He finished with 7 receptions for 155 yards and 2 TDs and a 2-point conversion.

St. Augustine vs Columbia

St. Augustine quarterback Locklan Hewlett tossed 3 touchdowns, 2 to Carl Jenkins Jr as the Jackets rebounded from their overtime loss to Nease the week before. St. Augustine jumped out to a 20-0 halftime lead on their way to the 27-6 victory. Trenton Jones caught a touchdown and Trendell Anderson also ran a touchdown in the contest. For Columbia, it was their second loss in a row, and it gets no easier as Bolles is on the horizon. St. Augustine has a bye.

Keystone Heights at Bradford

This was a foregone conclusion before the game as Bradford completely destroyed Keystone Heights 40-0. The Tornadoes are 5-0 on the season and have two tough matchups on deck. A date with Palatka and a showdown with a new powerhouse team Newberry (2-2) Newberry defeated Keystone Heights 48-0 to give some perspective on how goo that game will be.
