Jacksonville Fl- When the Class 2A state playoffs came out, there was little doubt that Bolles would win their first round matchup. Yet the way they won might be an indication that the Bulldogs mean business. In the first half of the regional quarterfinals, Bolles put up 35 points against visiting Taylor County, on their way to a pulverizing 49-0 win.
Quarterback Ethan Drumm passed for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Georgia State commit connected with his 4-star receiver Naeem Burroughs twice in the first 3-minutes of the game. Burroughs finished the game with 141 yards receiving and 2 scores. By the 7-minute mark, Bolles saw themselves up 14-0 over Taylor County.

Next Bolles would deploy their rushing attack, led by senior Ty Neal. Neal has stepped in for fellow senior Emmett Grzebin who went down with an injury in September, and has looked extremely well down the stretch of the regular season. Against the Bulldogs of Taylor County, Neal rushed for 2 touchdowns including one to put Bolles up 21-0.

Even freshman Luke Toland got into the scoring act, passing to senior Henry Hobby for a touchdown. Freshman defensive end Asher Ghioto registered a sack, while fellow freshman De’Angelo Ford and senior CJ Ennis picked off a passes on the night.
It was a total team effort for Bolles, and now they will face a familiar foe in Walton next week in the regional semifinals. #7 Walton upset #2 Pensacola Catholic who advanced to the state semifinals last year. So welcome Walton to Jacksonville will prove a much tougher test for Bolles.
