The Gainsville Panthers look very strong across divisions in their jamboree. Defense is always expected to be tough in the jamboree, but each Gainsville team appeared to be able to put up points too. Their week one opponent is the Woodland Acre Wolverines which also had a great showing today in each division. This is going to be a good one when it counts week 1

Pop Warner Jamboree    Lot’s of teams looked strong today in 12 minutes of action on both sides of the ball. Here is just a small take away from some of the action at the jamboree.

  • Scott Park Pee Wee team were just to fast for BYAA. Their speed will surprise some opponents.
  • Sweet Water Pee Wee wasn’t satisfied with their performance. They only shut out Arlington 20-0 and ran over  defenders at will. It’s scary to know that this team can be alot better.
  • Oceanway Junior Pee Wee 2  controlled the scrimmage against North Jax 1. The defense did not yield a first down and the offense scored on their first drive.
  • Normandy Pee Wee got the offense rolling early against Creeks. They just looked faster and more athletic on offense and defense today.
  • North Florida Pee Wee defense stepped up big against Oceanway holding them to the one yard line on a goal line stand. Impressive work for a jamboree
  • Grand Park unlimited weight has size and speed. It showed on a TD run and several stops by the defense.
  • Pine Forest Junior Pee Wee looked good against Creeks JPW 2. They were able to limit the outlaws offensive yardage.

Overall every team did a great job especially considering the thunderstorms that cancelled many practices. Next week are the practice games and a chance for a dress rehearsal before week 1!

Check out the photo gallery below!  And don’t forget to check back later this week for more youth football action from this weekend from all the major youth sports programs in North East Florida!
